Our Wicho Farm
– Location: The Wicho Farm is located in the Southern Highlands of Ethiopia in the Sidama Region and around Aleta Wendo Town. The farm is specifically located in the Wicho Village. The farm is very similar to our Habeja Farm, and it is near to that farm as well. The Wicho Village is about 325 kilometers away from Addis Ababa, the capital city. It is only a 7 kilometer walk from Aleta Wendo on a gravel road.
– This location collaborates with approximately 200 strong and dedicated small farm owners around our Wicho washing station.
This farm is owned by the sons and daughters of Mr. Tilahun Beraka and Ms. Bizunesh Geletu. It has been in the family since 2004.
– Altitude: The farm sits 1500- to 2100-meters, or 5000- to 6900-feet, above sea level.
– Characteristics: The coffee bean has a spicy, yet well-balanced, mellow aroma. It is sweet, almost berrylike or lemony in it’s flavor. It has a complex aftertaste that makes it popular amongst coffee lovers.
– Physical Appearance: The bean from this farm is small to medium in size. It has a greenish-greyish hue to the bean.
– Harvest: The harvesting season at the Haeja Farm happens from October to December. Our farm is very clean and environmentally friendly. We make sure to keep the environment around the farm safe and pure, while also improving the state of the ecosystem.
